COMPLEX ANGIOPLASTY

1. Primary

Angioplasty

Primary Angioplasty done during ongoing heart attack due to basic nature, high clotting tendency, high chances of abnormal rhythms & BP & HR functions.

2. Left main

PCI

This vessels supplies majority of blood to Heart. Hence, carries high risk of death and morbidities.

3. Bifurcation

Stenosis

Blocks in areas where vessels are dividing into the major vessels. Technically demanding as it requires two stents to be. placed in such precise way so as to regereate the natural angle and overlap of metals at junction needs to be neatly addressed.

4. Chronic total

Occlusion

This vessels supplies majority of blood to Heart. Hence, carries high risk of death and morbidities.

5. Calcific

Angioplasty

The blocks are very hard and difficult to open with balloon. Usually needs special equipments and techniques like rotablation (Cutting of Cqlcium with very high speed drills) , Cutting balloon & Scoring balloons etc.

6. Ostial

Lesions

Blocks at Origin of major blood vessels are tight fibrotic blocks and require special treatment with special culting balloon and needs very precise placement of stent during angioplasty procedure. Sometimes doctor may decide to put stent from main across the origin of other side branch. (Cross Over Stenting)
